What is your favorite time of the year?

Yesterday I uploaded my current favorite makeup look to my youtube channel. I find myself really starting to enjoy different products and shades at this time of year. When the evenings start getting shorter and the weather gets colder, it’s a great time to change up your makeup bag and introduce some lighter tones, berry lips and pink sassy eyes all the way!
It’s a fairly straightforward look, the base is fairly simple with foundation, powder and blush. I’ve been absolutely loving the SPF Moisturizer, and then putting the Glorious Primer over it. I apply the Skin Perfecting Concealer to cover those MAMA bags and pat on the lightest Scarlet on my trouble areas and let it sit while I do my hair. Apply the Liquid Touch Foundation and presto no more bags or trouble areas for a flawless look. The Pressed Stunning Blush and Sunset Bronzer to give some color! It’s a great base to start with and give such a natural look. I have then been warming up my collection with a splash of Al a Mode, a really natural looking luminizer, and finishing it off with a dusting of setting spray.

A whole Lotta LOVE!!

Nothing says “I love you” like a valentines flatlay. With valentines day just around the corner, I thought it was a great time to put together a few new bits i’d received or purchased recently. Most of which are perfect for this loved-up day, but are also just very pretty in general. I am someone who believes love should be expressed all year round, and not just one particular day, therefore these products will be well loved beyond February 14th (plus, look how pretty all this packaging is). How to Use a Lash Comb!

Trying to make big, wide, sexy eyes?

Remember these 3 tools: a decent eyelash curler, some Reformulated 3 D Fiber  mascara, and an eyelash comb. Don't try to skip the comb.

I admit, I have usually used a straight pin to carefully comb through my lashes. (DON'T DO IT I POKED MY EYE)  Is it true? Who knows. But I have met a number of makeup junkies who also use straight pins to separate their lashes. They have become frustrated with lash combs that have broken teeth or clumpy old dime store mascara residue caked on them.

Let's be honest here, using a straight pin to comb through your eyelashes works well. However, it can become a dangerous tool in an unsteady or clumsy hand. A few weeks ago, I was getting ready to head out to dinner with my friends. I was hurrying, trying to separate my lashes, when I missed with the pin and scraped across my cornea and iris. The pain was immense. I panicked. I had trouble seeing. I rushed to an eye doctor who examined me, and told me I would be just fine in a couple of days. He chuckled when I told him how the accident occurred. My friends didn't believe my eyelash mishap. They couldn't stop laughing.

There is an easier and safer way to separate your lashes. You should use a lash comb. The key point to remember here, are the type of teeth featured on your comb. The plastic comb with the plastic teeth break easier and are tougher to clean.

Instead, look for eyelash combs that have gold-plated or silver plated metal teeth. For some strange reason, the metal teeth give superior separation. Separated lashes look longer, fuller, more natural, and widen the eye. Just clean the lash comb with alcohol on a cotton ball or tissue after each use.

And a lash comb is quite simple to use, except, you can jab yourself in the eye, so only use with complete attention. First, curl your lashes with an eyelash curler. Second, begin applying thin coats of mascara at a time. Then, take your eyelash comb and start separating, or combing through your wet lashes. Comb from the roots upward, immediately after applying each coat. You will like the results---long, thick, more uniform lashes. No clumps or 'spider-looking' lashes. Oh did I tell you the New Formulated Mascara does not clump and it is slick as oil?

How to clean your brushes!

Cleaning your makeup brushes is one of those mundane tasks that we must 

all carry out (unless of course you like to spread bacteria across your face). 

You’d be surprised at how many people I come across who have used 

the same foundation brush for months or years and NEVER washed it. 

Sickening isn’t it. 

For those of you who don’t wash your brushes regularly, let me tell you exactly

 why it’s a very good idea. When you apply foundation to your face, you are 

picking up bacteria from your skin, and it’s then left to fester in the brush after use. 

The next time you go to use it, the same thing happens, except the bacteria that 

has festered from the time before, it now ALSO on your skin. It’s a vicious circle, 

that I can assure you, will only ever cause you to break out in spots. Obviously

 eye brushes are a less of a problem, but it’s still important to do a deep clean 

(as opposed to a spot clean – cleaning quickly with a makeup brush solution

 after each use) every few weeks, just to make sure they are bacteria free.

 I am lucky in the fact I have quite a lot of brushes, so after using one brush,

 I can then use a different one another day instead of having to be constantly 

deep cleaning brushes 24/7. If you have problem skin or acne, I’d definitely 

advise that you clean your brushes a little more than average person, you may 

notice an improvement. 

1. Lay out all your dirty brushes ready for cleaning to commence!
2. Dampen the brush slightly with lukewarm water.
3. Pump your cleaning product of choice (I often use a mild shampoo but at the moment I’m using a Dove hand wash because it leaves the brushes exceptionally soft, and I like to think that the anti bacterial properties of a hand wash are beneficial in cleaning away all the nastiness.)
4. Start swirling your brush around on the palm of your hand, occasionally adding a little bit of water to lather up the product and allow the brush to be thoroughly saturated. 
5. Squeeze out excess product and watch all the foundation drip away into the plug hole!
6. Repeat if necessary (stubborn dirt or a very dense brush)
7. Marvel your clean brush (yes, that’s very important…)

*Also, try not to use too much water, we don’t like to waste now do we! It must be a

 running tap though, as there is no point washing your brushes in a pool of cloudy, dirty water. Just make sure you are turning it off between steps and between brushes*  

I also just thought I would add a little memo about my favourite brushes as a

 little extra to this blogpost (I will do a separate in depth blog post). As you can

 see, the black heavy Younique tools brushes feature heavily. These are by far 

my favourite brushes for applying foundation. In particular, I love to use the 

powder puff brush for the liquid foundation.  I absolutely love them.

 They buff foundation into the skin like a dream.

Are you Baking your makeup?

You're already familiar with contouring and are wrapping your head around strobing, but now "baking' or cooking" your makeup is making itself a part of the mix, cropping up on youtube tutorials everywhere.

The term, which as been used in the drag community for years, refers setting translucent powder sit on your face for five to 10 minutes, which allows the heat from your face to set your base foundation and concealer, and then dusting it off your face, leaving you with a creaseless flawless finish.

Here's how you too can pull off poreless, picture perfect skin and brighten your eye area while you're at it:
1. Hydrate your eye area.  Apply instant uplift around your eye area to hydrate your skin and plump it up, minimizing the appearance of any fine lines or crease.  Try http://www.leatherandlashes.com 's hydrating moisturizer.

2.  Apply a thick concealer under your eyes.
While concealer usually contains oils and has a tendency to crease, it won't if it's set right.  Apply it upward from the apples of your cheeks toward your temples all the way underneath your eye.  Then, blend it in with a damp makeup sponge.  Try Moodstruck Mineral Concealer and the Blending Buds.

3.  Coat on more concealer.  At this point, you might be thinking. This is a shit ton of makeup.  and yes. it is.  S you can skip this step and still get great results, but for lasting power, a sheer second coat can lock in the first formula.  After you apply the second layer of smooth out all the creases before setting your concealer in the next step.  Try Skin Perfecting Concealer.

4. Dust on translucent powder.  Us a fluffy eye shadow brush to apply translucent powder over the entire patch of concealer to set the base makeup.

5.  Now. "bake" or "cook" your makeup.  Use a beauty blender or a wedge and dampen it with a setting spray, like Rosewater Toning Spritz Then, dip the wedge into the translucent powder you use in step 4 to pack the loose powder generously over the are where you applied the concealer.  eave the powder on for five to 10 minutes.

6.  Dust it off. Using the same fluffy deluxe eye shadow brush from step 4 and a pressed powder, like Touch Mineral Foundation., swirl the fluffy eye shadow brush over the formula and dust away the powder as you add more coverage to blend any harsh edges.

Now your baking baby!

Younique are always a brand I get most excited for when there is news of a palette release. Does it get any more festive than a bright red lip? I think not, in fact i’ve been rocking a red lip most of November and December! I actually love wearing one all year round but they just feel extra special at Christmas. Today I’m sharing my top 3 red lipsticks, which was actually so hard to narrow down. Three of these are matte shades, I find a matte red is just so much more wearable, yet can help create such a bold look which is perfect for parties and special occasions. My love letter to my Glamour Squad!!

I just realized the other day what I have been waiting on!  I always felt that something was about to happen but didn’t know what!!! I am at a place right now where I have found my passion in life.  I always thought and had the feeling something was going to happen while I was sitting and waiting.  I soon found out really quick I needed to make it happen if anything was going to happen at all. Finding my purpose and passion wasn’t always so easy for me to tell people what my passion was.   Do you feel that way?  Do you feel like everyone you talk to is telling you, “You just have to do it and figure it out”?  I used to get that all the time and it was really frustrating. I always asked myself, “Who am I?”

Here’s the deal, here is what I realized. Because I am currently passionate about teaching and training and coaching and sharing everything that I’ve learned in my Younique career, in my network marketing career. I’m so passionate about sharing how I do it and what works and what inspire others and how to motivate others. I finally found passion in that, because of you guys. You guys have pulled that passion out of me. You guys tell me that I inspire you, you message me and share with me how something I said changed the way you looked at your business or changed the way you did your business. I have found passion in really sharing my heart with you and being transparent.

How did I figure that out? I found out what my passion was by saying “yes” to opportunities. I have gotten into the habit of saying “Yes” to almost every opportunity that has crossed my path. Was I nervous about it? Yes. Did I fear it? Yes. Did I think I was going to fail? Yes. Did I fail a few times? Of course I did. But here’s the deal. You’ve got to go through life thinking, “What if I just said yes more than I said no?” You’ve got to start saying yes. Start saying yes to the things that may take you out of your comfort zone, because when you say yes to those things the passion will just come. The more that you work your business, the more that you step out, the more that you give to others, the more that you help others, your passion will just evolve.

You guys, each “yes” will lead to more opportunities to say “yes” again.  Eventually jumping out of your comfort zone enough times will get you to a place when you are comfortable doing more and more things.  When that happens, success will come naturally.  It will show in the way you present yourself and the way other people look at you.

Here’s what I’m saying. There aren’t many times in life when something was put before me that I didn’t say yes to. If it didn’t work out, who cares. With your business, say yes more. Say yes to the different opportunities that you have, say yes to adventure, say yes to the events that Younique  has and go to them. I’ve been to a lot of events.  

Through saying “yes”, I found my passion, you guys. I know why I was given a platform, I know why I was supposed to be on this earth and what I’m supposed to accomplish. I did not just know that one day when someone asked me, “What’s your passion?” In fact, that scared me to death and I had no idea what to say.

My point is:

1. Say “yes” to adventure.  

2. Say “yes” to being debt free.

3. Say “yes” to finding and developing your passion. One day you’ll wake up and you’ll say, “I know why I was put on this earth.” Not just here to pay bills and die, right? I’m here to give back and to share and teach and love and do all that.

That’s how I found my passion. I was sitting here thinking, “How did I get to this moment in my life?” So I wanted to share that with you. Keep working your business, keep moving forward.

POINT OF TIME

There will never be a point of time in your life where there is a right time to do a great thing. If you wait for that perfect, perfect moment or that perfect timing it's not going to happen
You know what you have to do?  You have to create the perfect time and the perfect opportunity and the perfect situation.

See a lot of people become comfortable.  They stop growing, they stop wanting anything they become satisfied. People are getting ready to go to jobs they don't like. Jobs that are making them sick.  See when you are not pursuing your goal you are literally committing spiritual suicide.
when you have some goal out here you are stretching for and reaching for that takes you out of your comfort zone  you will find out some talents and abilities you have that you didn't know you had. When the messenger of misery visits you what are you going to do?  What will keep you in the game?

There are things that you think you will never need to know but that one thing could save your life because  you had that knowledge.

Unless your tempted to learn beyond on that which you have already mastered you will never grow.  What is it that you looked at in some point and time and decided you could not do it? That you talked yourself out of it?

If you are waiting on your next door neighbor to make it happen for you it may never happen or if you are waiting on your mother or father they maybe so ancient in their thinking and do not understand the opportunity you have and  if you are waiting on them it may never get done.  But do not beg average people to be phenomenal.  You don;t beg good people to  be phenomenal you just are phenomenal and you will attract phenomenal.

Life is to short to give up on your dreams! Be Younique, Be Beautiful.
